We bring together teachers and artists from different Indian Traditional disciplines such as Mohiniyattam, Kathakali, Bharatha Natyam, Kuchipudi, Carnatic Music and Kerala's folk Dances. We specialises in offering expert training and practices on Southern Styles of Kalarippayattu.
The practice of these old artistic forms, brings the co-ordination of the body and mind, is a healthy way to grow as a person as well as an artist. This develops important capacities like concentration, coordination, memory, rhythm, expressiveness, power and strength.
Thankappan Assan, born in 1930, began to study the art of Kalarippayattu at the age of 10 from of three masters; his uncles Kuttiyappi Guru, Eliazer Guru and Devasahayam Guru. He also learned from them Kalarippayattu's, various medical treatments and massages. From 1968 he started performing all over India, showing the Traditional Marital Arts.
